Patch Tuesday a BIG One!

Yesterday was patch Tuesday, and it was a doozie for Windows. The Microsoft Security Update Guide shows a massive 1413 vulnerabilities being addressed by this update, 1192 of them being just for Windows itself. Office comes in second with 134. A lot of this is due to AI working to find any and all vulnerabilities across the board, even if they are extremely minor or very old. But, it’s good to have those patched ASAP. Now for the tough part – testing it with millions of different pieces of hardware. With this many updates, it’s typically caused some issues for some people and the recent track record with Microsoft Updates has been pretty sketchy for a subset of users.

Microsoft has two notable CVE’s being addressed with either exploitation being detected or has been publicly disclosed (exploitation coming very soon). CVE-2026-96951 (Windows Shell Security Feature Bypass Vulnerability) and CVE-2026-108398 (.NET Framework Security Feature Bypass Vulnerability).
Make sure you get your machines patched up as soon as you can.

This release consists of the following 1413 Microsoft CVEs:

Product Family Vulnerabilities Addressed Distinct Updates Update Type
Windows 1102 39 Cumulative
Office 134 11 Cumulative
SharePoint Server 36 1 Cumulative
SQL Server 22 8 Cumulative
Exchange Server 7 8 Cumulative
Developer Tools (Dev Div) 61 60 Mixed
Azure 15 20 Individual
Defender 4 3 Automatic
Edge 0 1 Automatic
Other 32 25 Individual
Total 1414 176
